A "very good" body will have minimal signs of wear and tear. Examples include slight impurities like worn leather or metal, signs of age on the bottom plate, and dull marks.

GOOD:

A “good” body will also look nice but have some additional potential cosmetic wear such as spots with discoloration, worn down metal or small scratches somewhere on the body.

AVERAGE:

An “average” body will be a more severe case of cosmetic wear like more extreme discoloration or worn down metal, exterior or interior black
specs, deeper scratches, or lines in the eye prism.

Such a beautiful camera; I love all the goodies that came with it too! A wonderfully made camera bag and cleaning supplies, straps, battery, and a nice little notebook for all your exposures! It was packed very nicely so that nothing got damaged in shipping- so far the camera works perfectly! Loading film was a breeze. I got this camera after trying (and failing) with 2 cheap 50 $ point-and-shoot Kodak cameras, and I'm so happy that I invested in this beautiful Canon AE-1! You can't even tell that it's vintage!
