No. The mechanical shutter works without power; the battery runs only the meter and is included.

It uses standard 35mm film. Color-negative, black-and-white, and compatible slide films all work; ISO / ASA 25โ1600. ISO 400 color-negative film is a forgiving everyday starting point unless the camera notes a narrower recommendation.
The included 50mm is a prime. Manual-focus Olympus OM lenses fit; modern digital Micro Four Thirds lenses do not.
