How to: Get your film photos on your phone
One of the questions we get all the time is:
āOkay but⦠how do I get my film photos on my phone?ā
And we get it. You want the magic of 35mm and the convenience of posting, texting, saving, and sharing instantly.
Hereās the good news: film photography has absolutely kept up with the times. Getting your photos from analogue to your phone is way easier than most people think. Like⦠surprisingly easy. Once you see how it works, it becomes a total no-brainer. Shoot your memories on film. Get them digitized. Download to your phone. Post. Print. Share. Repeat. Itās the best of both worlds! Nostalgic, cinematic memories with modern-day convenience. Our friend McKinzey made the cutest little video showing exactly how she does it every single time. Watch it below and youāll see how simple the whole process really is š
Here are the 3 Steps
- First. Shoot your film, Of crouse.
Load it up. Take it everywhere. Photograph your friends, your coffee, your road trip, your random Tuesday that somehow turns into the best night ever. - Develop + Scan. Back in the day, youād drop your film off at the local drugstore and get a stack of 4x6 prints back. Very iconic. Very nostalgic. Slightly inconvenient for Instagram. But We live in the future. Instead, send your film to a lab that offers scanning. Almost all modern film labs do this. When you drop it off (or mail it in), just make sure you add the ādevelop + scanā option. Once your film is ready, your photos are professionally scanned and sent straight to your email as high-quality digital files. Open. Download. Post. Share. And if you still want those 4x6 prints, knock yourself out!
- Enjoy. Now it is time to put in a new roll of film and capture your next adventure!
