It uses standard 35mm film. Color-negative, black-and-white, and compatible slide films all work. It reads DX-coded film from ISO 25โ5000, or you can set ISO 6โ6400 manually.

No. This is a fixed-focal-length (prime) lens. Its natural 50mm view is lovely for everyday moments, portraits, and street scenes. Move closer or farther away to change your framing, or switch to another compatible F-mount lens when you want a wider or tighter view.
The bright f/1.8 maximum aperture gives you more flexibility for indoor and late-day photographs and can give portraits a softly blurred background. The in-focus area is shallow at f/1.8, so focus carefully on your subject; choose a smaller aperture when you want more of the scene sharp.
The F100 uses a five-area autofocus system with Single Servo, Continuous Servo, and Dynamic AF options. You can select a focus area yourself or let Dynamic AF help follow a moving subject.

The F100 uses the Nikon F mount and is especially well matched to AF and AF-D Nikkor lenses like the included 50mm f/1.8D. Many other F-mount lenses work too, although older manual-focus lenses may have reduced metering or exposure-mode support.
